Best Moment!

Best Moment AwardI am happy to announce that I’ve been nominated for the Best Moment Award by Psychologistmimi! That actually happened last month but I was so amazed that I did nothing about it. I didn’t forget; I was just surprised!

My acceptance speech sounds like this:

Anything that is written about and shared is special, it is cataloged for posterity. It becomes a part of the dialog, a common bond between the reader and the writer.

Anything that is photographed is automatically elevated in status. It starts its life already framed, in a viewfinder, on a page. To share an image is to share a visual experience.

Sometimes I set out to take a particular picture and come away with something different. Last week, for example, I drove out to the beach  for the Conejo Blanco Photo Challenge, but that idea didn’t work out. The images were feh. I did get a picture of beach repairs for the weekly Daily Post Photo Challenge though. Totally unexpected.

(Did someone start the music? Stop the orchestra, I’m not done yet!)

I’ve read blogs from around the world. Kindness and encouragement know no physical boundaries, since we are all citizens of Bloglandia. Age not an issue either; one of my followers is just thirteen and she’s a delightful writer.

Thank you, Mimi, for this honor and opportunity. And thank you, readers, for joining me.

(This is the part where I attempt to step down from the stage without falling off my sparkly high heels or tripping on my ball gown)

Now the fun stuff: I get to nominate the next slew of winners!
